 กก Department of Music Department of Music (formerly a specialty in the Art Department founded in 1995) was established in 2004. Under the leadership of the university authority, it has developed into an important base for training music talents and received a positive evaluation from the society. The Department has five teaching and research sections, namely Vocal Music Teaching and Research Section, Dance Teaching and Research Section, Piano Teaching and Research Section, Theory Teaching and Research Section, Musical Instrument Teaching and Research Section. Moreover, the new Art Building, which covers 9,000 square meters of floor space, can completely meet the needs of teaching and art practice of the Department of Music. There are 3 specialties, namely, Music, Music Performance and Dance, and so far about 400 undergraduates are studying at the department. There is a qualified, experienced and energetic teaching and administrative teacher team. Nowadays the Department has 41 teaching and administrative staff, among whom, 15 are professors or associate professors, and 14 are lecturers. In recent years, the Department has undertaken one scientific research project of national level and 40 projects of provincial or municipal level. The staff members have published over 210 theses on academic journals including more than 20 in the core journals, and have composed 5 professional books and textbooks. The teachers and students of the Department have held several concerts, have taken part in many grand performance competitions, and have won the first or second prizes several times. At present, the faculty and staff members of the Department are in high spirits and full of boundless confidence to walk into a brighter future. กก |
