School
of Politics & Law ¡¡ Based on the education of undergraduates and the nurturing of creative talents, the School has always explored new ways for improving teaching quality and made great efforts to form its own characteristics to meet the demands of the development of science and technology at present and for the future. During the past 30 years, the School has improved its teaching quality constantly, and has also made numerous significant achievements. Recently, more than 30% of the students have enrolled in the study of Master¡¯s degrees in key universities upon graduation from the School of Politics and Law. All the undergraduates studying in the School have passed CET2, more than 80% of them have passed CET4 once only, and over 98% of them have obtained employment as soon as they graduated. ¡¡ The School has attached great importance to the nurturing and construction of its teacher team, thus creating a team of high quality teachers, who are very active in doing scientific research. So far, the School has 42 faculty and staff members, and more than 30 of them have been conferred Doctorate or Master¡¯s degrees, or are engaging in the study of Doctorate or Master¡¯s degree programs, and 24 of them are professors or associate professors, including 20 supervisors of Master¡¯s degree candidates. Meanwhile more than 10 well-known experts have been invited to work as part-time professors at the School. The School has a provincial-level key research base of humanity and social sciences----Contemporary Marxism Theory Research Institute, and two key disciplines of the university, namely Marxism Theory and Ideological and Political Education, and Labor Economics. ¡¡ The School pays much attention to academic communication with fraternal universities and scientific research. Since 2002, the School has invited more than 10 professors from other famous universities in China to give lectures, and sent at least 2 teachers to other universities to do research as visiting scholars or to engage in advanced studies every year. The staff members have had more than 20 scientific research projects of national and provincial level, and the faculty and staff members of the School have published more than 130 academic papers and composed 12 professional books and textbooks. During the development of nearly 30 years, by giving full play to our own advantages, the School has gained a good reputation and has nurtured a large number of high quality talents. We believe the School of Politics and Law will have a brighter future. ¡¡ |
